A Type 1 diabetic, allergic to trees, grass and pollen, 90% deaf in the right ear…these are not the usual characteristics of an American Idol contestant. But Elliot Yamin not only surprised everyone by making it to the top 12, he also finished as the second runner up.

Thanks for the link. It's a nice page for Elliott. It needs to be updated though.

When will people get tired of pointing out the diabetes, the allergies, etc...can't the music come first? Maybe the day will come when fans will be surprised to find out Elliott is diabetic!

(I know, he has said he wants to raise awareness so no one has to post and remind me, but I still think it's exagerrated.)
