Elliott Yamin's self-titled debut will be released on March 20
With great enthusiasm, America has once again embraced the sixth season of "American Idol." And with that excitement comes one question often heard from Richmonders: "What happened to Elliott?"

Have no fear! Richmond’s Idol (and 3rd place contestant from last season) is doing quite well. And if you haven’t heard about it, get ready: Elliott Yamin’s first single "Movin’ On" will be ready for digital download on Feb. 13 via Hickory Records. Hopefully the tasty morsel of music will tide everyone over for a few more weeks until his debut album is released on March 20. And while artists like Fall Out Boy and Justin Timberlake have album titles like "Under the Cork Tree" and "FutureSex/LoveSounds," look for a simpler name… "Elliott Yamin."

Simple, yes; surprising, no. His album is promised to have full artistry, but without the overproduction that many TV-stars-turned-singers heavily rely on to sell their music. Elliott’s recent adaptation of "This Christmas" proved that his raw talent mixed with smooth vocals and an upbeat soul/pop sound is the formula for success.

Elliott’s publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music will allow them to share marketing with RED Distribution. Manager Jeff Rabhan agreed this deal was a great move, because it "enables Elliott to have real creative and marketing input over the music that he produces."

Brandon Crowe, administrator for Etrainstation.com, says, "It’s gonna be a little different than what from people are expecting – in a good way. It’s still Elliott, but he’s mixing it up a little. Expect some modern sound without too much overproduction – it sounds great!"

So check out Elliott’s debut and cheer him on as he shows he is "Movin’ On" from "American Idol" and moving up in the world of music.
