Title: Funny Elliott Story
lindagt - February 3, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
I was on a retreat trip yesterday with a bunch of realtors and our inhouse loan officer. While we were traveling, the topic of text messaging came up. Our loan officer told the story that after AI last season, he started getting threatening messages from Cingular saying he was seriously delinquent in his bill. He knew he had been paying the regular amount. After researching the issue, he found his wife (a financial professional) had racked up about $700 dollars in textmessaging voting for Elliott over the season. She voted for two hours - what a gal. I've got to gift her with a copy of the single when it comes out!

Now, that is funny!!! (Of course, it may not be so funny to the guy resonsible for the $700 bill!) LOL

Great story, Linda. My husband still doesn't know how much I spent texting for Elliott. I went way over my monthly limit. But he was well worth it! Love that boy!

I had never text messaged before Elliott so I was lucky and got a new Cingular phone with one month free texting for the end of April thru May of last year. I text voted at least 1000 times over those weeks and it was all free - I haven't used my messaging since (took it off the bill). For once I lucked out. I feel for her - however, I did buy Moody's Mood "bleep times" (I'm never going to tell but it was on a new charge card with on interest until this April) on ITunes so I guess I made up for it (raised my balance quite a bit with This Christmas and The Storm too). I need to apply for a new charge card with no interest before the Elliott's new single and CD come out.

Linda that is CLASSIC! I love it. The things we do for Elliott. Ok, I guess it's time to come clean....I purchased a Cingular Go phone just to vote for Elliott.

I already have Cingular, but every Tuesday, I got my husband to leave his phone at home so I could use it to double vote on Tuesday night. I had two phones alternating text votes and Dial Idol voting on the computer (although that only could get through a couple times a week - every one counts). I voted thousands of times with those two phones! My husband knew what I was doing and he never asked me how much the bill was - he's an Elliott fan, even though he doesn't like to admit it.
