Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday after collapsing at a hotel and being rushed to the hospital, one of her lawyers told the Associated Press.

Smith was rushed to the hospital after she was discovered unconscious in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino about 2 p.m., CNN reported. WFOR--CBS 4 News and CNN are reporting that she's dead.

Unresponsive at the time she was discovered, the flamboyant starlet was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital after the incident, which was first reported by Access Hollywood on its website.

Local police were reportedly forced to shut down the streets to expedite her transport.

Fire crews and emergency personnel performed CPR on Smith, putting a tube down her throat, Access Hollywood reported.

Officials at Memorial Regional, however, refused to say whether Smith was being treated there.

The hospital was being besieged by media inquiries.

Smith and her husband arrived at the Hard Rock on Monday and planned to check out tomorrow, said Michael Bloom, Hard Rock spokesman. The couple's infant daughter was not with them, Bloom said.

:unsure: Wow - tragedy upon tragedy. Makes you wonder what or who is responsible for first Daniel's death, and now Anna Nicole's??? I hope there is a thorough investigation. And now who gets the baby?? Is Howard still going to the claim her as his (I guess if she's an heiress, he sure will!) This is just too, too bizarre. And so sad for little DanielLynn.

I don't know, it seems to smell of foul play to me.

Was it ever revealed who the real father of her baby is?

This is definitely shocking. She supposedly had a fever for a few days, but it's just too weird that first Daniel dies so suddenly and then, Nichole. I don't know....

No, the results from the DNA test have not been revealed yet.

Very sad. I feel bad for that baby. I hope her father will take good care of her.

OMG! I saw this headline on rickey.org earlier but did not pay attention coz I was so excited about Movin' On. I also thought it was just a joke and nothing serious. I can't believe it. And I just saw Anna Nicole and Howard on The Insider like a couple of days ago being interviewed about the death of Daniel. She seemed stoned or something. Howard was adamant that he had nothing to do with Daniel's death. And now Anna Nicole is also dead???

Something sure smells fishy to me...

They just said on the news that there was no evidence of drugs in her system according to the medical examiner. They still do not know cause of death.
Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband is now claiming HE is the baby's father.
This is so bizarre and so tragic for everyone concerned.

I was never a huge fan of hers, I laughed a few times watching her Reality Show. I liked that she didn't take herself too serious
Through all she has been through she always had a certain kind of something about her that made me like her and I have even felt a little sorry for her.


On CNN/ Larry King, the Attourney for the guy that claims he is the father ( Birkhead) just said that they think both Daniel and Anna Nicole were poisoned by Howard K. Stern.

What a mess

Anna Nicole’s short bizarre life is probably going to be in the media for years to come. So many nut cases are going to be coming out of the shadows, with theories and speculations. I sure hope no matter whom the biological father is, that the courts step in to protect the little girl by appointing a champion or guarding to ensure she is brought up in a caring and protective environment.

Personally I think it is usually damaging for children to grow up in the media’s focus.

I heard this also about Zsa Zsa hubby WTH? Crazy.
They were saying she was taking RX drugs wonder if it was the same thing Daniel was taking?
Maybe she died of a broken heart?
I was never a fan of her's but when I heard about the loss of her son I felt somewhat closer to her because of knowing the same pain. They said she lost 60 something lbs in the past 5 months.
I hope for the baby's sake they do this investigation correct if it was the husband and he knows what he is doing he will be walking around a free man!
My heart goes out to that baby! I know Anna was NOT close to her family I hope she is not put into their hands.

I was never a fan of hers, and I didn't like the way she handled herself, BUT where the hell were her family and true friends? Didn't anyone care enough about her to help her? For years we watched this poor woman spiral down, and her eventual death was pegged when her son passed away. She was exploited in every way possible, and now these a$$hole guys all claiming to be the father of her daughter still do not have any ounce of decency to just put an end to this bs. A woman and her son are dead, and a little newborn girl is left without a mother or a father, and this is all they can focus on? Such a tragedy.
