I'm in Florida and it is suppose to dip into the teens tonight! We were prepared for the hurricanes that were suppose to strike us last year (which never happened), but this weather is unheard of! We don't even have stores down here that carry the correct clothing for weather in the teens. We will have to stay inside with our shorts and flip-flops!

If you are lucky enough to be able to stay inside, by all means, do that. Hopefully the arctic freeze will be short lived. :yes:

Pattern-type weather really can't be applied as the universal truth to show why a climatological variant like Global Warming is not happening (IE an intrusion of cold air all the way to the Gulf Coast due to jet stream reallignment). Science has shown consistent changes that all point to sea level rises and climate change due to pollutants that add carbon emissions in the atmosphere. I'm not going to post all of the research, but it is out there for the public to see and read.

It's kind of ironic that this subject is placed in the politics folder. The reason I say that is because that's what our environment, our home has become. I think that if we just faced the facts and went forward with small changes on the individual level, we would see a collective change. But politics gets in the way of that as they seek to find any small contradiction in evidence in order to substantiate their refusal to see this as an important issue.

(I wanted to be a meteorologist at one point, so this material really interests me).

I've never been skiing or been around snow, but my husband is from Maine and he says that the cold up north is much different from the cold in the south. We have so much moisture down here that the cold will cut right through you. Unlike the north where it is very easy to go out and "play" in 20 degrees. Hopefully, I will get the pleasure of experiencing the difference one day!

Al Gore won an Academy Award on Sunday for the documentary "An Inconvienent Truth: A Global Warning". It was pretty awesome, but yeah, he is one of the rare politicians who actually want to make the changes to help the environment.

Yeah, he and Hollywood are the worst at saving energy and helping the environment with their gas guzzling limousines and private jets and millions of dollars spent on fashion and jewelry - all so they can look at each other! I didn't waste my time with the worthless awards.

Did you hear about Gore's mansion and the energy that it is using? And the ridiculous explaination that he is doing his part to cut back? And he wants us to follow suit? Ha!
