Title: 91% wanted Elliott to Stay!
Description: Fox 45 Baltimore Poll Results
v4Elliott - May 18, 2006 04:54 PM (GMT)
I was overjoyed and shocked as I watched the news last night. A poll was taken to see how many Baltimorians agreed with Elliott's elimination. And, I'm not kidding, 91% replied no!
Baltimore is a very critical city when it comes to music (and seafood). You won't catch Brittney Spears or JLo on our turf. We only support pure, authentic artists/musicians. So, to have 91% of us saying, "Elliott shouldn't have went home", that's saying something. To be fair, I must also note that Baltimore is the home of many jazz/R&B greats. Billy Holiday and Cab Calloway are just a few (were embarrassed by Sisqo). Baltimore is the home of the renowned Morgan State University (from which I had the honor of graduating in December '05) Choir, where the late Nathan Carter was the director. Point being, we know soul...we know soul. We're like first cousins to the underground Philly cats.
If you're good, we back you. And I'm sure we're not alone.
Therefore, after August (after his contract is up), those of you in the secular arena (I'm heavily into gospel) need to contact the promoters in your areas to get Elliott some show dates on the underground scene...like now. By doing that, it will give his fans a taste of his artistry while we wait on a CD. I, for one, don't have a short attention span. But for those who do, an underground tour would be perfect! Y'all know, the House of Blues, Jazz clubs, Art festivals, all of it! Let's keep the E-Train momentum going! That way when his CD drops, it will go through the roof!

ya...i have a weird feeling that the numbers were manipulated.
but that's just me because no matter what you think of e's looks you have to admit he can sing.

Hey, v4Elliott, I'm in Maryland, too. Closer to Annapolis, but anyway...
Are you thinking of contacting promoters in Baltimore/DC?
et4elliott - May 18, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
Since Season 2 I believed the show was fixed and now I'm 100% sure it is. Elliott had more votes than Kat and so did Chris the week before. It should have been Elliott and Chris in the finale.
v4Elliott - May 18, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
Well hello there, Marylander! I was born and raised in Baltimore. My family is from Virginia though...they moved to Maryland in the early 1900's for work. We still own inherited land in Charlotte County, Virginia which my Grandmother and her remaining sisters and brothers have retired too. Just a little fun fact.
I think everyone should contact promoters in their respective areas. I'm don't know many secular promoters because I'm heavily into Gospel music. But, the musician/vocalists/songwriters/producers who are need to get on the grind while the iron is still hot! He'll have money and support throughout the Idol tour. But, after that, we need to keep clothes on his back, food in his pocket, and a roof over our boys head! We don't want that voice back behind a pharmacy counter do we?? Being that I am into music, I know about the timing of it all and it takes a while to produce a good record...and on top of that, he has to wait for the AI winner to do it first! Can you wait that long to hear that voice again?? I know I can't.
Elliott has no other choice but to work the underground until he is signed with a fair record deal! (remember TLC, Toni Braxton, and other artists who were so excited about signing a deal that they forgot to read the fine print.)

If people had wanted him to stay so badly.. they should've voted.... well.. that is IF the show isn't rigged.... <_<

hey fellow Baltimorons! I'm in Ellicott City :) (which is often mispelled as Elliott City, woot! i once had a woman at the DMV in Hagerstown insist on pronouncing it that way.)
And it's good to know that my city also loves Elliott. he so did not deserve to go.

Good to know that we have the beginnings of a E-dub fan club in Charm City!!
I have an annual crab feast and I'm seriously thinking of inviting Elliott and his family. But hopefully E. will be too busy juggling offers to attend. :D
Ya'll can come, though. I can taste the Ol' Bay now...
ElliottAshah - May 18, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
mmm ... old bay. i couldn't find that stuff easily when i was in CA. i'm so glad to be home.

How many of you here truly believe that McBrat got more votes than Elliott? Honestly?
Tempest - May 19, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
But why wouldn't they want Elliott and Chris in the finale? I would think that would be the best finale ever. Why manipulate it to have Taylor and Kat there, it makes no sense to me.
Tempest - May 19, 2006 02:28 AM (GMT)
There is no way she got more votes...something is rotten...
Tempest - May 19, 2006 02:29 AM (GMT)
I had this crazy idea that maybe certain record producers wanted to sign Chris and Elliott and they pulled some strings to get E and C kicked off. so they wouldnt be beholden to AI for long.

The following Completely OT Moment is brought to you by the letter E:
OMIGOD! It is such a small world! I was born and raised in Charlotte County, VA! (For those of you who don't understand the reason for exclamation points -- Charlotte Co. has a total population of 12,000. The largest town, Keysville, has 600 people in it. It is completely off the map.)
So, may I ask the last name of your family? I probably don't know them since I moved away from Keysville in 1986 when I finished school, but my parents still live there and I go back pretty frequently.

I don't believe she had more votes, but I believe that Fox removed some of Elliott's votes as per their disclaimer. They can always call this "power voting". It was so blatantly obvious that they didn't want him on the show. He clearly was the best vocals of the night and very much loved. There is a lot of intense hate going on for Kat all over the internet, it's just amazing, worse then Kellie.

I think these 2 will outsell their chosen top 2 with proper management, although I heard Clive already offered a recording contarct to Chis, so Elliott will have to have a good management team behind him.

OMGoodness!!! You have GOT to be kidding me?! :glomp:
I have NEVER had anyone ever recognize that name! And folks, just to let you know how secluded these places are, there are no street lights in my grandma's town, they use well water, and the closest hospital to my family's house is 30+ minutes away in South Boston. We still have to check for ticks when we're done in the yard! Wal-Mart, a good 20 minutes away, is the mall! You've never seen darkness till you've been in the real country...very scary.
My family name is Coles/McClendon. Their mail comes through Randolph, VA. After you get off of 360, you've got to go through Drakes Branch to get there.
I guess you know about Sheldon's, huh?
This is too cool!

Elliott DEFINETELY should have gone on, and ya know what, I think he "knew" he was going home on Tuesday and maybe that is why he didn't perform "up to par" so to speak, (well to me he did, but to others..) and there is definetely a R A T somewhere!! Everything happens for a reason though, and only GOOD will come of it, and only WE can help make that happen for him by our ever constant support!!

I am tending to think this way also. Chris was the obvious pick for the win so why let him be voted off? The only reason I can think of is to drum up controversy and ratings?

Hi fellow Baltimore fans. I'm an Elliott fan from Baltimore too. I was at the O's/Red Sox game on Tuesday night and missed the show. I snuck out to the bathroom and called my mom for the numbers and started voting for Elliott at the game. It was actually a pretty good game and we were beating the Red Sox in the 5th inning but I couldn't stand it anymore that I wasn't devoting my whole time to Elliott. I left early and drove with one hand on the wheel and one hand dialing the whole way home. Needed to get to my landline and vote from 2 phones. I love Baltimore but sadly am relocating to Northern NJ for my job this week. Hopefully there are a lot of Elliott fans there too!

If she wins, I'm hanging it up. There's no way in Hades she would ever get more votes. It's just not possible. I bet plenty of fans will let Fox have it because they know how small her fanbase is compared to the other contestants. We could all just boycott AI! Unless no one else does in which case I'll watch it still, but I won't be voting anymore!

These two posts astound me - I certainly believe the numbers and it has been stated in numerous polls that Elliott was a lot of people's second favorite if they originally preferred Ace or Bucky, etc.
So , how on earth did Elliott leave ? If the voting was so close that they had to wait for the Hawaii votes to determine the loser ( per an interview with Nigel) , how could it be that Elliott was the lowest vote getter ? We had that entire Hawaii team power voting and with a smaller one , I believe there were almost 2 million votes, and this is not counting Dulce who I think said she got in about 1500 herself alone and all the rest of the people there .
Well, it all must be for a good reason - after reading about that horrific contract, I would not want Elliott tied to that !

OK...I'm only going to say this once!! The two best singers in the whole contest got screwed over by somebody!! The two that deserved to be in the final, were Chris and Elliott!! I hope noone disagrees with this, because if you do, then you don't have a good ear for music!! Enough said!! LOL, Thanks. :P
