LOL, I read on the AI message board about how Elliott's CD was doing SO badly from a Kat fan, they didn't even know it only existed in the preorder status, maybe it will get their attention NOW.

I would just love to know how many cd's have been preordered over the past 2 weeks. I don't know how many people actually buy their music on Amazon.com - does that represent a large part of the market? If it does - then it means a lot of CD's - if only a small percentage of people buy on Amazon, then it might not add up to a lot of CDs.

I think Ohioguy posted somewhere else that Walmart sold more cd's than anyone else. Target and Best Buy were way up there too. I can't remember how Amazon figured in the mix.

Well, that Amazon number might start to go down now that we know his cd at Target will contain 2 extra bonus tracks.

Probably so. I preordered 4 copies from Amazon a while ago. Now I am so upset that I will not get the 2 exclusives with them!! Guess I'll have to go to Target as soon as the CD is out to buy more copies.

What's This Connection To Target Getting This "special" Version? Why Them? Richmond Based, Or Something??

This is a new trend Eyes. It started a couple of years ago when Garth Brooks gave exclusive rights to his box set with a special CD included to Walmart I'm sure it's a lucrative deal for both sides. Several artists have done this. I think Chris Daughtry had a bonus track on his CD if you bought it from (I don't remember where because I didn't buy it).

Target is getting something exclusive - they sell more CDs and I'm sure there are some goodies in exchange for Elliott.

Daughtry had exclusive tracks at Target and iTunes; Taylor Hicks had extras for Wal-Mart. I don't think McPhee had extras anywhere, but I could be wrong.

It's a new trend, but a necessary one as we now have fewer retailers with music sections and record sales declining.

I buy almost all of the music I buy at Amazon.com. Once in a while I actually go to the nearest Best Buy. I pre-ordered Elliott's CD some time ago but now will also buy one from Target for the extra songs!
