Title: Target Cd Will Contain 2 Extra Bonus Tracks!!! :)

yamignonette - February 23, 2007 09:22 AM (GMT)
I want a copy of that one!!!

ramblerg - February 23, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
So does that mean our pre-ordered CDs from Amazon.com will not have the bonus tracks?

I'm more than willing to buy the one from Target as well just to have the extras B) ...I gather Target will feature that aspect prominently in their marketing.

I guess not. It's a good thing I have not yet ordered mine from there. Now, I would just need to coerce a US etrain buddy to get me that Target copy. ;-D

Well Target just happens to be on my way home from work everyday! Thanks Elliott for making it a breeze for me!

shatner8 - February 23, 2007 11:22 AM (GMT)
Already preordered from Amazon, but Target definitely will have my business, two more tracks, awesome!

yamignonette - February 23, 2007 11:42 AM (GMT)
Has the rumored tracklist been posted here? I saw one shared by an mj's poster, reportedly from CD Universe and BestBuy.com:

1. Movin On
2. Train Wreck
3. Free
4. Let Your Heart Lead
5. I’m The Man
6. Wait For You
7. Song For You, A
8. I Got Love For Ya
9. Sign Your Name
10. Shooting Stars

So there are indeed only 10 songs? Target version will have 12, possibly including You Are The One? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks. :)

SingItE - February 23, 2007 11:56 AM (GMT)
Works for me, I still have a gift certificate for their from LAST Christmas. I never go there, but this will be worth the trip.

ramblerg - February 23, 2007 12:00 PM (GMT)
With the night I'm having at work I'm anxious to hear "Train Wreck"! :dizzy:

That track listing that I'm aware is posted on some sales websites is actually still unconfirmed as far as I know. Brandon would be the only one with that info I believe.

Lene - February 23, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
Oooh, good thing I waited to order. Definitely picking up my copy at Target. :D

EDIT: "thing" instead of "think" because I am no longer in Seussical...blah.

pdlvne - February 23, 2007 12:16 PM (GMT)
I can see it on the "breaking news" now. Traffic Jam at all Target stores. Stores filled with "E-train" fans. :rotfl: :etrain:

ohioguy45780 - February 23, 2007 01:26 PM (GMT)
well, don't go cancelling your orders at Amazon.....this will cause his rank to diminish considerably.

Where did we get this information? Do we have a link?

It is also possible that Target will have bonus tracks; Wal-Mart will have a separate bonus track; Amazon's will have an even further bonus track or offer. It happens.

The neartest Target to me is about 3 cities away. Looks like a road trip up the highway!

ETA: found the info, from the man himself!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to Target I go March 20th!

Quoted from E's message:

"I spent the rest of the day meeting w/the top executives over @Target headquarters...Minneapolis is actually where their home office is based, and they're going to be one the major distributors who will be selling my exclusive album...which happens to contain 2 extra bonus tracks!..."

ohioguy45780 - February 23, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
would be great if Target would feature one of his songs in one of their ads....

they did that when they had that Petula Clark exclusive set a few years back....

(for those young enough not to know who Clark is...think "Downtown")....

Oh man, I remember when that was a hit. We danced this stupid dance called the "Jerk" to it.

bigEfan - February 23, 2007 03:15 PM (GMT)
I can see I'm gonna be a busy gal on the 20th! :rocker: On my way to work that night....Shopko, Walmart....then on to Best Buy, Target.....for starters! :etrain: Why do I have this feeling in my heart that E's gonna blow up the charts? Maybe it's just my true wishes and prayers for something awesome to happen to someone who deserves it! I LOVE ELLIOTT'S VOICE....SOOTHES THE SOUL I TELL YA! BEST MALE VOCALIST IN ALL AI SEASONS IN MY OPINION. (Don't think I'm gonna get much an argument on that one will I? :rotfl: ) :etrain:

Etrainrider - February 23, 2007 03:26 PM (GMT)
I've already pre-ordered my copy but was planning on getting another. So I guess I will get it from Target then if they're offering the bonus tracks exclusively.

Soccerma - February 23, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
I love Target. I'm there all the time. I'll definitely be picking up a few cd's from them even though I preordered from Amazon. Sounds like they are really behind our boy. Thanks Target!

lindagt - February 23, 2007 04:12 PM (GMT)
It's starting to dawn on me now in a big way - Elliott didn't need no stinkin' recording contract. He's put together a package of deals that give him all the perks without all the handcuffs. How many brand new indie artists get big radio tours like this and special deals with Target for exclusive CD's with bonus tracks? He's getting great promotion, seems to be locked into the clear channel network, has really big believers in this CD - he's blazing a brand new path and proving it can be done a "different" way.

If you can't get the bonus tracks by ordering from Target online, you KNOW there will be tons of us who will gladly buy your CDs and send them to you :grouphug:

flannery - February 23, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
Now this is strange! I went to Target online to preorder the cd and up comes a page saying that target.com and amazon.com can be one and the same for such orders. So does that mean that the amazon.com cd will also have the extras?

ladycentaur - February 23, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
When you order music from Target's website it comes from Amazon...so I'm guessing that Amazon would also have any extra songs as well.

Yeah, it really looks like it. I've been saying this for months and so many people thought I was delusional that I was beginning to wonder myself. But I'm now pretty sure that this is the kind of non-handcuffed package they were striving for all along, based on Abraham's views of how things should be. And it really appears that they've got it. Pretty cool. He seems to be getting promotion at the same level as his peers with the big AI/Clive contracts, and we know he'll be getting a lot more money, and gets to pick his own single to release to radio play.

I knew there was a good reason I'm still working at Target. Maybe this also means they'll make a commercial to promote the cd. They did one for Daughtry's cd and it ran on a bunch of different networks the week before his cd came out.
