Title: Elliott Who?
catielyn - February 23, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Watching AI it's just astounds me that so much of Elliott's material has been covered and yet his name has never been mentioned. It's as though he never existed on AI. I just don't get it.
Chris came in 4th and, though I understand he's doing well, they are featuring his music on the AI (good-bye song) elimination nights and mentioning Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, etc., but never once have they mentioned Elliott.
When Sanjaya BUTCHERED Knocks Me Off My Feet, didn't it immediately remind Simon, Paula, and Randy of Elliott and his awesome performance? Randy told Sanjaya, almost verbatim, what he told Elliott, "you singing Stevie Wonder, to me, one of the best known singers in the world". It must have rang a bell for him. It was almost deja vu, except he told Elliott that he totally pulled it off and that he would record an album with him that day...and of course, he told Sanjaya, that yeah...don't try that again--but anyway. It's almost like Elliott is taboo on AI and I just don't get it.

Agree they don't mention Elliott and it's not right ... but what gets me even more is they HARDLY EVER mention Taylor... Didn't he win? I think he was mentioned once?! You would think Chris and Kat won.. maybe that's the way they would of liked it!
So I guess they will never mention Ellott. very sad.

Wow that's a good point! They NEVER mention Taylor!

I'm predicting that about the middle of April, when Elliott's CD is sitting at # 1 on the charts, they will mention him a lot. AND am I the only one who noticed that Elliott said in his TV interview today that he would be debuting his single on KISS FM in LA in a week or so? Isn't that Ryan Seacrest's gig?

Well, Simon did mention Taylor during the audtions. He said that one of the auditioners (I forgot who) could stick their gum on his picture before they started singing.

My humble opinion is that I will concentrate on all of the wonderful, positive, exciting things that are going on for Elliott. I see no need to read a slight to him in situations that really don't have anything to do with him.
Chris and Kat are part of the 19 E family. Of course they would promote them. Elliott is not. Elliott is doing amazingly well on his own and seems to have a much better deal as far as compensation and control.
Chris worked very hard for almost ten years to break into the business. He loves the current style of rock music and a large segment of the music buying public loves to hear him sing it. I could not possibly begrudge him the success that he worked for for so long. Kat's CD was just released a few weeks ago. Of course they would pimp her. She's part of the family.
By looking on the positive side of things, I can enjoy all of the wonderful excitement leading up to the release of Elliott's solo debut CD next month instead of seething because Elliott was not mentioned when the judges were talking to bad singers about songs that they butchered.
I hope that we, Elliott fans, celebrate this glorious time and not fall into the fan wars and comparisons that plagued the other fanbases when CDs were released. My mantra is: No wigging out - no drama - no gloating.

I just got home and listened to it. I got it right away. I'm assuming it will be on Ryan's radio show which is huge out there. That's awesome. :rocker:

totally agree with you. We can try to be Movin On just like Elliott. He's always mentioning how grateful he is to Idol for the start they gave him and I'm sure if he was asked back he would be glad to come. In the meantime, I truly believe that HE made the choices he did (to be out of the 19E family) and he doesn't expect them to be promoting him.
Outofmymind - February 24, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
It always was a big conspiracy to me. I don't get it either. It doesn't hurt to mention his name once. Unless they want money in advance... But they are already getting paid millions, don't they? Greedy bastards...
AvivaDove - February 24, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
AI didn't want Jennifer Hudson. Now that she's suddenly famous, they're taking the credit. They'll mention Elliott when he's famous.( that will be soon).
They don't like Taylor. They're still mad that he won over their star, Chris. I like Chris and Taylor. The only time they mention Taylor is in a negative way, like when they thought that Sundance was a better singer. They could have just praised Sundance without mentioning Taylor.
I'm really glad that Elliott didn't win AI. I wouldn't want him to be in Taylor's shoes now.
I wish all of the past and current AI contestants lots of luck and success. I know that our Elliott is on the brink of a very long successful career. AI doesn't have to mention him. Go Elliott!

I am really having a hard time this year with AI. They never say a word about Elliott. You would have thought maybe a mention would have come up when Chris R sang but nothing. That's okay. Elliott is going to blow them all out of the water when his CD comes out.
mymanelliott - February 25, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
 It was my understanding that Elliott was a favorite amongst the judges, crew, and band atc. It seems quite odd that they haven't mentioned him, but there are probably some 'rights' mumbo jumbo in the fact that he's not with 19E. We just need to sit tight, endure many another idol wannabes butcher Elliott's songs, and then have the final haha when Elliott record sales blow everyone away!!! :cheerleader:

This is a good post and I agree too. This is such a great time to be an Elliott fan!
3/20 cannot come soone enough!!!

I just read on my local news website that Carrie and Kellie Pickler will perform during this season. I know that it will be Kellie and not Elliott because she signed with 19E and he didn't. It still makes me mad. He came in third and he's just hands down, a better singer. One country blonde guest singer is enough for me. Carrie is an American Idol winner/Grammy winner, so it should be Carrie.
And what about Taylor? He's the current winner. He should be a guest long before Kellie Pickler!
I guess I shouldn't be so mad at how AI ignores Elliott. They ignore Taylor just as much.

I found it really strange that Fantasia sang on results night and not Taylor. Isn't that the night that the previous winner sings?? And so what if Taylor's touring, isn't he touring for the same people?

OH PLEASE, ELLIOTT IS SO ABOVE AI. IN A FEW MONTHS THEY WILL BE SO SORRY. HOPE HE BLOWS THEM ALL OFF THE MAP. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY LOST OUT ON. :etrain: 4LIFE

AI HAS ALWAYS IGNORED ELLIOTT, WHY SHOULD IT BE ANY DIFFERENT NOW. SORRY I CAN'T EVEN WATCH THAT SHOW ANYMORE. :etrain: 4LIFE

Haha, I had a dream about that last night. I think I recall Randy saying "Keepin' it real, man.. It wasn't nearly as good as my dawg Elliott."
