not much of a thread starter, but i thought i'd give it a go.
i didn't watch the finale of the amazing race for obvious reasons, but i just checked online and saw that the hippies won! maybe i'll actually pay 99cents to watch it again On Demand, since I didn't tape it.

i'm so glad! none of my television show favorites ever win. It's about time, lol.

I hear ya. I'm an Amazing Race fan also, I watched the 1st half and taped the 2nd half... and it was spoiled for me on the winner when I saw them on Regis and Kelli this morning.

OOH, I love The Amazing Race!!!

I thought Eric and Jeremy pulled a Colin and Christie --- always winning in the previous legs but then they come in second.

I am good with the Hippes winning though I thought Fran and Barry had a good chance!

I actually know the hippies, we went to a wedding of a mutual friend. They're great guys!

I too really liked Fran and Berry.
However I am thrilled the Hippies won, they were so much fun to watch!

I was thrilled BJ & Tyler won too! I cannot stand Eric & Jeremy & I was really worried they were gonna win it all. Thankfully the hippies were able to get Japan for the final international leg(was Tyler the bomb talking Japanese or what?!) & when it came to the end BJ's brains pulled out the WIN!! I was SOOOOO happy! I needed some positivity after the Elliott debacle. I was impressed that the hippies came in last TWICE & were STILL able to win it all. It was their personalities IMO. They are just good guys & that truly does take a person far. :grinningangel:

Ya-Hooo! I amso happy for the hippies. Wanted them from the start. Again, totally humble, nice guys (like our E). Couldn't watch, but read about it on cbs.com and started bawling!!! LOVE that show and so happy one of my shows turned out the way I wanted it to :dude:

I recorded it and watched it later...cheered me up after AI. I LOVE the hippies, so glad they won! :D

I watched the first hour, and then switched over to Idol. Was DVRing Lost and Idol, so I couldn't also record Race. I have three VCRs and a DVD recorder, but since getting DVR, I haven't used them. Anyway, I have loved the hippies from the start and was so happy to see that they won. I can't get CBS shows ON DEMAND where I live yet (though I have ON DEMAND service), so I'll just have to satisfy myself with the written recaps.

I loved the hippies too. They were so much fun and real it showed through. Glad they won. :clap: :clap: :clap:

i love that show!!!! I really liked Fran and Barry and Ray and Yolanda....but im happy the hippies won....they seem like awesome people!

Of the top 3, I was rooting for Ray and Yolanda, but I'm glad BJ & Tyler won. They would have been my second pick.

I would love to be on this show... But, alas, I'm only turning 20 this year. I need to be 21 to audition... So... earliest one I'd be able to apply for would be... The Amazing Race 13? Possibly 12th, depending when they cut off applications.

I LOVE the Amazing Race! This year, I absolutely fell in love with Lake, surprisingly enough. He was hilarious, and you can tell he was a real dork under all those layers of Republican dentist. "WOO!! FOOT!! WOO!!" And his made-up swears were the greatest! "Roten mammy-jammers..."

lol, yeah, Lake definitely had his moments :D

One of the stand-out moments of the season:

"I'm Lake, like the ocean."
"I'm Ray, like the sun."

I love how Ray's was completely off-the-cuff and it made more sense than Lake's. The ocean is not a lake!!

The Amazing Race is my favorite reality show! You really get to know the contestants and the editing is very well done.

I like how every season has a couple who always fights with one another. :)

i feel dumb for not watching this show lol ^ ^;; but while i was at work, one of the teams of The Great Race ran into our store and screamed 'wheres the condoms??'
I don't know if that part is in this season's show or how it works lol :dunce:

I've never watched this show. People say it's good though. Maybe I should check it out.
