I love me some Tasia!! :rocker: At times, I forget she is only a year older than myself, she's an old-soul and that isn't a bad thing!

She was awesome!!!! I <3 Fantasia :glomp:
GypsyNFla - March 1, 2007 11:52 PM (GMT)
I cried after watching it. She has really grown on me. I love her unique style and sweet personality.

I honestly didn't like Fantasia that much when she was on the show about 3 years ago...but since then, I've begun to realize that even though her voice itself might not have the greatest tone, she puts so much PURE EMOTION into her songs, that it doesn't matter. I much prefer her to some of the cookie-cutter pretty pop girls the show seems intent on shoving in our faces (not naming names...)

She really pours her heart and soul out when she sings, that is just what makes so many of her performances magic! Pretty much like our E
Ugh yes she really is such a breath of fresh air from the Britneys, McPhees, and Pussycat Dolls of the world! You Go 'Tasia! :cheerleader:

Thanks for the link. I think she has a great voice if she didn't shout it all the time though. Great showmanship though!

I'm dancing in my living room lol. I love this song.

I have to agree about the shouting, as well as her "yeah, yeah, yeah's" usually at the end of a lot of her songs. Her showmanship is just fantastic. I would definitely go to see her perform.

Last night Fantasia was a hit on the Big White Way as Celie in "The Color Purple".
The "official" reviews on her performance won't begin rolling out for at least another week, but initial fan feedback has been very positive.
And trust me...Broadway baby are harsh critics
-- and they are NOT fans of "stunt" casting to salvage even a good show...(I have not been to NYC in a long while -- I've only heard the OBC.)
Anyway here's just one from "talking broadway"
From the moment she walked on stage, the cheering began, and you knew that the entire audience was supporting her every step of the way. In terms of learning the role, which everyone said would be so tough for her, she was flawless. Every note, line, and movement was spot on. Not only that, but they were all character-driven and moving. She nailed every laugh, and was completely believable as Celie. The tears poured down her face in the emotional moments of the show, and the singing was beautiful and controlled in a way I had never heard her sing before. Her big song near the end of Act 2, "I'm Here," stopped the show, and much of the audience rose at that point to give her a standing ovation. When she came out to bow, the entire theater erupted, and as Fantasia broke down crying, the noise from the crowd was deafening. Alton White, who plays "Mister," handed her a bouquet of flowers, and she gallantly led the cast in a rousing reprise of the title song.
This was a magical evening in the theater. Fantasia's performance not only surpassed all expectations, but ranks right up there as one of the most glorious performances I have ever seen in a Broadway musical. And, trust me, I've seen a lot.

I still listen to her Summertime regularly, it has a permanent home on my ipod. I heard her Color Purple role was extended for another 3 months. I wish I could see it--maybe she'll be part of the eventual tour and she'll come to my area!

I would love to see The Color Purple, also. Great for her that the show is extended.

I just realized that Midi Mafia (who produced Fantasia's hit single When I See You) is the group Elliott is working with on his second cd!!!!! That song was a HUGE hit!!

New Fantasia song -- "Broke" -- for the next album. I love it.
"Broke," FantasiaAlso, seems she's been dropped by 19's for management. Must have been some real whoppers of fights over there, I'd guess. Anyway, so she gets new management and moves right along. No big deal, probably.

I love the new song and I'm glad she's no longer with 19. The song is produced by Midi Mafia (who produced her hit When I See U and who is supposedly producing her entire new cd!) and Midi Mafia is working with Elliott too!! :cheerleaders:

Woohoo! All great news.
I'm sure she'll have management that gets her, rather than management that gets that Simon look on its face. 19 has a pretty narrow range of music and musicians they're interested in, I think.

I had the pleasure of seeing Fantasia at the Taste of Chicago on Wednesday. It was an awesome show. She leaves it all on the stage and really knows how to work a crowd. She thanked the audience for making it possible for her to do what she loves, then thanked God for giving her the vocals.
She brought Jennifer Hudson on stage to sing part of Baby Mama with her. I didn't record this video, but there is a shaky clip on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb-o81rgp8II LOVE When I See You and I'm looking forward to hearing the music Midi Mafia produces with Elliott.

Fantasia is another true "discovery" of American Idol.
I love that she is continuing to gain fans. Here's another video that shows what you mean Klo, about Fantasia leaving it all out on stage:

I really enjoyed that. I'm thinking Fantasia is one of the few AI's that can actually dance
