Just wanted to mention, once you locate Elliott's name on the chart you can click onto it and it will show the main stations that are playing him. From that page if you click on 'show format starters' at the top of the page, it'll show all stations playing him if the info is available.
Also wanted to mention that I did a search on mediabase and all of Elliott's songs from the track listing from Amazon (including the rumored bump n' grind, stardust and shooting stars lol) are listed now, even though there's no airplay for them yet. These songs were not listed when I checked this past Friday
alienhamster - March 5, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
Do we know why his plays on the LA station don't show up when you click on his name?
ladycentaur - March 5, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
Since KIIS FM was the starter station they don't show up, I'm guessing. They played him again today...and he is at #127 on one chart, so that should go up tomorrow...would be nice to see him in top 100!

Yaminilita,
Thanks for keeping us posted! The information is changing daily!
I noticed that the radio station in San Diego has played WFY seven times during the PM shift. That's a really good concentration.
KIIS seems to be spreading his spins evenly, the OVN shift, meaning overnight spins is nice, but represents a smaller listening audience. But, from a pure numbers point of view, we'll take it!!

Not sure if this is the right thread (I have been in lurkdom for quite some time)Ryan just played Wait For You at the end of his morning show today. When the song ended, he said that after KIIS premiered the song last week, they have been getting tons of requests for it. Then Ryan said, and I quote, "Yamin has a hit record...we are going to see this on American Top 40." Then Ellen asked Ryan if Elliott would perform on AI this season singing his hit song and Ryan replied by saying that if Elliott is still managed by 19, he will, but Ryan said that he was not sure whether Elliott was still managed by them or not (I am sure Ryan knows but has his reasons for being vague).

He's at #91 with almost 1.5 million audience impressions! And IT'S STILL NOT A FULL WEEK YET.
This is meteoric folks. Look up and down the Top 40 charts. He's the only one in the top 100 that wasn't even played at all last week.
ladycentaur - March 8, 2007 08:36 AM (GMT)
Elliott has broken into the Top 40 jump chart, too. It says on this chart that there are 7 stations playing Wait For You, but only 3 show up. That means there are 4 more stations playing him that we aren't seeing spins for on the pop charts.

Sorry to be ignorant, but what in heaven's name is an audience impression?
alienhamster - March 8, 2007 09:27 AM (GMT)
Audience impressions = total number of estimated listeners when song was spun
What's up with these 4 mystery stations?!? Hmmmm . . .
Yaminilita - March 8, 2007 12:17 PM (GMT)
Elliott almost up to 3 million listening audiene with Wait For You. He also has a spin on Rhymic. Things are JUST getting started.
Also if I'm not mistaken...Movin' On seems to be on the increase again, because I believe he was at 35,000 listening audience yesterday and is up to 72,000
edited. The chart is odd. Elliott was at 2.7 mil this morning, now back at 1.9 for Wait For You. Don't know if that was an err or the chart just wasn't finalized for the day.

We've heard that a number of stations are playing the song as part of a poll for 'best new hot song' or something to that effect. So far, we've heard from Wash DC, Boston, Cleveland or it could be Bakersfield or Las Vegas. We'll find out soon...after the break.
Yaminilita - March 16, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
According to mediabase, as today Wait for you is being played on 18 top 40 radio station. It was 15 yesterday.
ladycentaur - March 17, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
The DC station has still only played Wait For You twice to "test" and apparently no one is requesting there...or not requesting enough. :(

was this the DC station with the troll poll? They are probably afraid of the Idol 'effect'.
alienhamster - March 17, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
Someone in DC should call in and ask a DJ.
I think he'll get play there. He did great on the polls, and I know for a fact their music director picked Elliott as a "hot pick" for Top 40 success (according to AllAccess). They just need some encouragement trickling in from fans in the area.
ladycentaur - March 17, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
This is the problem with telling local people to only request a couple of times a week. For the first couple of weeks especially we need to make the phone requests to our local stations (especially in huge markets) a lot because most people have no clue who Elliott is or what his song is called or sounds like. We have to remember that not everyone knows everything he's up to like we do. Two phone requests a week is not enough so early in the game.
ladycentaur - March 17, 2007 05:42 AM (GMT)
Here is a list of the top 20 market areas for radio.
If we can target these areas it would be good. We need to check for any nightly votes like 9@9's and do everything we can to get Wait For You played in these markets.

2 Los Angeles, CA
3 Chicago, IL
4 San Francisco, CA
5 Dallas - Ft. Worth, TX
6 Houston - Galveston, TX

20 St. Louis, MO
alienhamster - March 17, 2007 05:42 AM (GMT)
As I've said before, I think it's two *e-mails* a week max, but multiple phone calls are good as long as people spread them out among DJs. Moreover, it's more important to have breadth of request from a number of local people rather than power-requesting from one or two people.
As far as I know, the DC folks have been working on this. The station will come thru eventually . . .
mominny - March 17, 2007 02:16 PM (GMT)
I think NY will jump in after Elliott's appearances on Tuesday. Besides on z100 this is Daughtry weekend.

For those doing the tracking... I'm having a hard time keeping up... how many of these cities have played WFY?
Just wondering if they were holding off sending out the single until the Cd's release?
I'm still pushing Phila, but they don't seem to have it.

Everyone take a moment to click on the Top 40 link in Yaminilita's original post.
Scroll down until you see #43.
When Elliott gets to #40, that's when a number of program and music directors have said that Elliott's Wait For You will be added to their rotation.
We have three more slots to go!!!!!!

I thought Q102 had him on the rate the music/"evaluation" list? Seems like that would suggest they have the actual song.
Don't give up on the requesting there. I was looking over the audience impressions data on mediabase, and to me it looks like the Philly pop station is in the top 5 in the country. I know it's not a top 5 market, but its spins are MASSIVE. We definitely want airplay there. And we already know Philly is crazy about Elliott . ..

We will need some increased requesting in Phoenix, AZ and in Florida.
I'm not worried about San Diego dropping. They're giving him better quality spins during the day and they appear to be "managing" the spins so that the song is still popular when Elliott comes through town for his concert.

I've heard John Mayer's Gravity played consistently on K101 in San Francisco, but there is really no indication of that here on his MediaBase chart:
http://www.mmr247.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Det...G1++&format=H1RMy reason for posting that information here is that I now realize that the spins have been taking place during the Jon Tesh syndicated radio show.
Perhaps syndicated shows handle the licensing, and therefore, the spins differently?

I have a feeling they're a relatively new station without enough listeners to qualify for Mediabase. We have the same issue with KVFX in Salt Lake City and KLAZ in Little Rock. We had great airplay at both these stations early on, but they didn't seem to count towards Mediabase for whatever reason.
Sk8888 - April 21, 2007 06:06 PM (GMT)
Overnight Elliott regained the #43 position as the Fray dropped below him.
New station spins are going to be critical for Elliott to move up as new artists' songs move up.
The good news is, there are still radio stations adding WFY to their rotation, while about four or five of the songs on the decline above Elliott are pretty maxed out in terms of station adds.
Let's keep texting and requesting. Elliott's really close to hitting #40.

Exactly. Elliott's got a higher ceiling for going up the charts because stations are still adding him. Plus, he's starting to get top 10 airplay in some major markets. Other stations will notice this.
BUT he can't get more spins without more requests, especially at these new stations. Call if you're local or can livestream. Or text in a request (even if you're not in the area). IMO, texting is the easiest way to get Elliott some airplay support.

Only 18 spins separate Elliott's Wait For You from the song that Hilary Duff has out right now. Her spins are on the decline, while Elliott's are increasing.
About 64 spins separate Elliott from Diddy, which is ranked just above Hilary Duff.
The way spins are going today, it looks very promising that Elliott will surpass Duff by end of day.

Also notice that coming up quickly behind Elliott and high on the Taking Off Chart are:
Ciara - Like a Boy - currently at #44 - (9 pt leap)
Nelly Furtado - All Good Things - (9 pt. leap)
Paula Deanda - When It Was Me - (8 pt. leap)
Lloyd - Get It Shawty - (11 pt. leap)
Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know - (19 pt. leap)
Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry - (36 pt. leap)
(for reference point - Elliott's Wait for You just had a 5 pt. leap so he'll have to keep building play to keep his place on the Top 40)
