Title: Fame Ruins Too Many
Description: what happened to Kellie Pickler
niki - March 4, 2007 06:39 AM (GMT)
I have been watching Idol because I want to see if anyone even comes close to our Elliot. So far NOT. I thought Idol was fun, but now after seeing Kellie Pickler, it just makes me sad. I hardly recognized the cute and funny girl from Idol. She looked fake and old. If that is what she calls "making it" I say she has the wrong dream. I looked at Simon and he looked away, like he just couldn't look at her. I love Simon. He really does call it fair. I worry about our Elliott but I think he is so real he won't run out and buy fake boobs. (ha). I saw the bubble tea bit and that was so funny. He is like, well, a neighbor or something. I just love that guy. I bought his latest single on Itunes. They finally got on board. I will do what I can to insure Elliott gets as much fame as possible. I call our station, I write letters. I walk in the diabeties walk. Our group was named "walk like yamin it". But, we can only do so much. I think it is pretty impressive that his fan base it still hanging on. Think how long it has been that we all have been posting and we still don't have a CD. Are we nuts, or just nuts about Elliott?

That's a great way of putting it, and so true, Niki! Let's hope it won't change.

Yeah, I can't imagine Elliott buying any fake body parts. :rotfl: It's just not him. He's the real deal and that's why we all love him!
Long live our boy from Richmond!

Well I'm not going to be too quick to judge Kellie - I'm sure she has self esteem issues just like everyone else - and let's get real - Elliott's already got new teeth ;)
I know most of the world thought Kellie looked just fine the way she was - but to each his/her own. If her personality goes diva, then I'll start to complain!
catielyn - March 4, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
I honestly don't think Kellie got fake boobs. I think she was just wearing a push up bra, and that her stylists used lots of double sided tape.
She was way overdone and reminded me of a young Dolly Parton, but she's a sweet girl and we don't know that she has fake breasts. I really don't think she does.

You're right, Linda. I forgot about the teeth thing. I stand corrected!

Wait, his latest single is on itunes? Wait For You is up?
pdlvne - March 4, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
It could have been one of those push up bra's. The dress was so tight ! I like Kellie and wish her the best. I didn't like all those curls in her hair, just a little bit much. I thought....
flowercrazy - March 4, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
I never really loved Kelly, but I do wish her the best. She is a girly girl and she loves buying shoes and wearing tight dresses and things (remember the corset from the tour? That was like...crazy tight).
I do think it was just a push up bra. And I agree with the hair comment...what was up with that hair? It was a bit of a mess.
Maybe in the future Kelly will have her image all worked out...I think right now she's kind of just trying to find out who she is style wise...or maybe her stylists are pushing things on her. All I know is her look last week did not suit her.
I think Elliott will always remain relatively the same person, character wise. I mean on that radio interview we heard that he never wanted to learn how to straighten his hair because he was just a get up and go type of person. But he also said in a previous interview that Idol stylists taught him how to dress with clothes that actually fit him. No matter how much his image changes I think he'll remain like the same Elliott we fell in love with always, and it makes me soooo happy :cloud9:

I wouldn't say fame ruined Pickler. Sure, she looked terrible. Blame it on the stylist.
What really struck me about Kellie's appearance was not how bad she looked, but how she acted just the same as always. Her sweet personality was still shining through the globs of makeup. I thought she seemed just as cute, funny, and endearing as ever.
DoxieChickLuvsE - March 4, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
I always liked Kellie and her personality is so cute, if I could reach out to her over the cyber waves I'd have just three words for her.......
Fire your stylist.

Kellie looked and sounded as sweet as ever. She gained weight, and her hairdo was too retro for my taste. I'm used to younger look on women in their twenties, but it was just her outfit and hairdo. That's so changeable. Take off her makeup, give her a more youthful hairdo, put her in casual clothes that she wears offset, and she's still the same twenty year old girl.
I don't think she got a boob job, it seems when Kellie gains weight she distributes it evenly throughout her body. Her face, breasts, waist and hips were all much heavier and in proportion. If it were breast implants, that would be the only noticeable difference. Everything else would still be slender in proportion to her breasts.
I worry most about fame changing Kat. She's has self esteem issues, is insecure, and can easily be thrown off balance. She's a pleaser and a giver, and she seems to want to make everybody happy. I worry about her in Hotel California.

But Kat was raised in hotel california! She is the MOST used to it and it seemed she was already "hollywood" even before she made the top ten. LOL
parsimmon - March 4, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
Doxie, Kat may have been raised in California, but she is vulnerable to being
exploited and used. She was protected and sheltered and she isn't this racy girl who lived the 90210 lifestyle. She's actually a little girl who was, like Britney, a stage mother's daughter from the time she was a toddler. Maybe even from birth. And we all see how Britney and the Olso twins are handling this fame. Pleasers, all of them.
I know people have a different image of Kat than I do, but I really think mine is just as likely to be accurate as those who think the opposite.
Fact is, none of us really know Katharine McPhee.
I just see a very young vulnerable stage mother's daughter, and I worry about her.

As much as I poke fun at her, I do worry about her

I completely agree with you. Kellie looked much older last week, but if you whittle away the styling, she probably looks pretty much the same.
Her comment about the "shoes" told me 'Yep, that's Kellie!" Loved it when she said that. And that isn't fake. That's just Kellie.
I think she's been through a lot in her life for being so young. Being thrown into this celebrity environment is a bit overwhelming. It's overwhelming for all the AI contestants. Even Chris Daughtry I bet you. They have never lived the life of being in the spot light before, like now. So adjustments have to be made emotionally, spiritually physically etc.
I think all these AI contestants are vulnerable to a degree.
AvivaDove - March 4, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
I don't think that fame ruined Kellie. She seems the same on the inside. One of her Idols is Dolly Parton. She looks sort of like her. I didn't like the look, but who am I ?
As far as fake body parts go, so what? If they're fake, she looked good. Just the dress wasn't that good. Elliott has fake teeth. They look Hollywood fake. He's happy with them.
We can't judge Kellie or Elliott or anybody. They have stylists and ''their people''. They have to look a certain way and project a certain image.
They'll never be the same boy or girl next door regular people that they were when they started on American Idol. That's just the way it is. I wish them all alot of luck. I hope none of them get into drugs or destructive behavior.
If an unflattering hairdo or outfit are the worst things they do, that's ok.
March 20th can't get here soon enough.....

I have to agree with you. We all do what we think will improve what we think are our weaknesses. Kelly seems to be the same soul as she was on AI5. Elliott wanted his smile improved. It doesn't change the person. It just makes them feel better about themselves. I know that as I grow older and loose my teeth, I am always covering my mouth when I laugh out loud. As soon as I have the dental work, I will no longer have to cover myself and I can be more "natural" about my reactions. I thought Kelly looked great but ,in her mind she felt flawed.
elliottsbabe - March 5, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
To herself {I'm hoping now} she see's herself as beautiful, and that is the most important issue.
Efan4ever - March 5, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
I personally dont know what to think of her??? She looks as if she has aged 10 years! But i still like her as a person..not so much as a singer.
Elliottfan27 - March 5, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
I don't get it. I guess I'm cynical or something. Why should we worry about them? Most of them are only concerned about selling their CD's. I'm sorry I just don't care about their personal lives. They certainly aren't gonna spend any of their money on me.
I'm sure they're not on this message board reading about how concerned somebody is about how fame changes them. I'm sure they're deciding which "plastic surgery" they're gonna buy with their money next.
The difference with E getting his teeth fixed is, somebody stepped up to do it for free for him and his was more of a "health" reason to get them fixed then a "superficial" fix.
tink50 - March 6, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
Let's not forget the other situations fame can bring....I feel so sorry to hear about Bucky and his marriage. Don't know if the touring and being away had anything to do with it, but it certainly can't help a marriage. Keeping my fingers crossed for Chris and his wife. Fame can be a wonderful thing but it can also bring a high price tag with it.

I've thought about you question alot. Why should we care what happens to them, or worry about them. Why do I care? I guess, it's because the trappings are so explosive and I just don't like to see someone lose themself or their talent and lives because of the cost of fame.
I think of Jim Morrison,Kurt Cobain,River Phoenix and others, and we no longer have their talent or their lives with us, and, I for one, think it's a loss.
mombell - March 6, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
i thought she looked scared but i know it must have been emotional to return to the stage where it all began for her...but she did look way too old...she needs to be young and fresh or she will fade away...just my opinion
