Title: Yahoo Bombing Update
Description: I think I know what happened . . .

Folks,
We did succeed, but I think there might have been a glitch in how they counted it.
We've known Elliott got up to #6 for the weekend on the Yahoo Buzz Music chart:
http://buzz.yahoo.com/music/Well, I just saw that's he's ALSO #9 on THE TV CHART!!!:
http://buzz.yahoo.com/tv/It's hard to know for sure, but I'm wondering if they "split" his searches up for whatever reason: perhaps roughly half the searches were followed with clicks to American Idol related info.
In some ways this is better, because it puts him on the front page of two of the major buzz categories over the weekend. Who knew he was a TV star, too?
As I said before, good work everyone! We'll eventually show yahoo that he's a MUSIC STAR primarily. But for now, all buzz is good buzz . . .

That's funny... Elliott right between The Office and Sandra Lee. :)
Notice both showed 130% climb, so it may indeed be the same numbers, same clicks... just someone managed to put him under tv shows.
The Elliott Yamin Show coming soon. Ohhhh wouldn't that be neat, like maybe the old 70's Dean Martin show.

As the Dean Martin show was a "must see" for me each week - I'd jump at the chance for the same type of show featuring Elliott.
:thud: There are only a few people who can sing with almost anyone and make them sound even better by virtue of their mellow tones and vocal range. Elliott, Dean, Tony Bennett.... can't you just hear them?
What is old becomes new. Maybe a variety show hosted by Elliott isn't such a far-fetched idea?

That's funny, guys.
So, it was definitely us that got him to #6 over the weekend. He dropped off the charts today:
http://buzz.yahoo.com/music/Well, we kept him close to Pickler at least over the weekend. But we just can't compete with fake boobs!
So, should we give this another shot next week, perhaps on Monday so that it coincides with his large radio debut?

That makes sense - let's go for it on a day we don't get distracted by interviews with Ryan Seacrest.

Monday sounds like a good idea. Start promoting it on Friday and over the weekend?

That's what I'm thinking, too.
Do we know who put up the banner before?
(P.S. It's always you and me on at the same time in this forum, Movin2. :) )

Since Tuesday, March 13th, is the Radio Impact Date for Elliott's new song, wouldn't it be a good idea to do the next bombing on the date when Elliott's song will be added to a lot of radio stations? It may get more notice. People who hear the song on the radio will want to read more about Elliott and his music. We will just add a bit more to that number of searchers. Also, it may be a good idea to do it for a few days afterwards and a few days during release week for the CD.

Well, Yahoo Buzz posts 24-48 hours after the day's searches end. So a Monday bomb would coincide with the Radio Impact Day roughly. I'm also concerned that we'll be otherwise too occupied making requests on Tuesday, the impact day itself, to do yahoo bombs.
But I think you're right about following up closer to the CD release date, too.
