PARHAM ROAD
RICHMOND, VA

MIDNIGHT AT WALMART!
BUY ELLIOTT'S CD - ONLY 50 COPIES ARE AVAILABLE.

I have been working with the manager of Wal-Mart on Parham Road!
He has done a lot of work for Elliott fans! He will have 50 copies of Elliott's CD!
The store normally closes at midnight, but he said he would keep it open for
us to purchase at the strike of midnight! I'll be there! He would like
confirmation that there will be several fans there to warrant keeping the
store open. Any takers???????

Nan,

If you get enough people, that is certainly newsworthy enough to have a news crew out there to get some video for the following day's Morning Show or local news.

This is one time I'm glad I'm not from Richmond, fighting crowds lol....

well no, it's probably gonna be a blast, I can see all the E banners now... yeah making the late late news and early morning.

We're not really publicizing it all that much before hand - because there's only 50 copies - we don't want any riots!!

But if enough people from here say they're going to come - somebody might just tip the press - ha!

ETA - we also don't want to take away anything from the big Circuit City CD release party on the 21st either. So it's kind of low key....

Hi Linda,

No way this could take away from the Circuit City appearance when Elliott himself is going to be there signing CD's, but I do agree that more than 50 people could show up if this got wide spread coverage.

nanassetta - March 14, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
We must have a :doctor: for the older crowd!

alienhamster - March 14, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
This is a total PR event, and the press should be tipped off. If they report it's going to close anyway, people won't have enough time to get to Walmart to "riot" in the first place.

But it does set a good tone for purchasing the next day.

Agreed. I'll do some checking around. The only problem is - I don't know how many are going to come! Don't want to do it if there is a small crowd.

You mean, there's a Wal-Mart in the world that CLOSES? All of ours are 24/7/364 stores.

bigEfan - March 15, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
My goodness, ONLY 50 cd's in Richmond at a Walmart? That seems awfully low considering it's his hometown. They better start the second shipment asap! :rocker:

I know!! I was thinking that was an outrageously low number of Elliott CD's for a Richmond store to carry.

nanassetta - March 15, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
We have a million WalMarts! This one just opened so maybe they went low on this particular store! Great manager to accomodate us!

nanassetta - March 15, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
I need to know how many people plan on attending. Help!

ha ha..mine too, Ohioguy.

BTW, I accidentally pushed "Report" instead of quote earlier and reported you...sorry about that.

Actually, I think this is a pretty typical shipment - I've got a feeling that many folks are going to be disappointed and waiting on the next shipment at stores all over Richmond. I hope Circuit City will have an overabundance for the CD release party.

So far, we only have 4 people who are committed - so we do need more to make any kind of statement - C'mon ya'll know you won't be able to sleep anyway.

ohioguy45780 - March 15, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
50-75 CDs per store is typical non-holiday shipment.

croweb70 - March 15, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
The Brook Rd and Parham Rd Walmart is open 24HRS...Just FYI.

Thanks Brandon. Those managers could not assure me that Elliott would be on the shelf at midnight. They said, "by 6:00 a.m." We need our boy at the strike of midnight! :cheerleader:

You all just need to enter the store en masse and demand your Elliott CD. Round up as many people as you can.

Wal-Mart will be forced to get the boxes out of the back and hunt for your CDs.

Have corporate's number handy if they refuse. Bentonville would HATE to lose a sale. :-)

I don't have a clue about all that stuff. Just thought it sounded low for Richmond. Maybe it just doesn't matter where it's at, they just ship a certain amount. I wasn't being negative at all. More concerned if anything. I'm a worry wart. Anywho, it'll look good when he sells out fast!

No - you'd think they would put some forethought into sending a CD into the hometown of the debut singer - but I guess everything is on rote - no real thought to the shipments.

Oh, I didn't think you were being negative. Richmond *should* have been sent extra CDs. It would depend on the size of the store, their clientele, and regional needs.
Actually 50 per store could be high for many areas. The goal of the E-train in Richmond should be to clear out any and every copy of "Elliott Yamin" from the racks in your great city by that Sunday night.

:-)

I saw this coming :) I knew they wouldn't be stocking shelves in Richmond. They're gonna be selling them out of the carts they bring them in from the back in after they're scanned in. HA! Here's ONE Time it doesn't work for you!
Have a blast Richmond, I'm gonna stroll into Target, you know...whenever I get there, and pick a few up :)

(I'm kidding and I know you will have a blast)

AMEN, this is the reason record companies stink, the stores can't sell what's not promoted and shipped!
