Wait For You Review BillboardWill Elliot Yamin become the 27th "American Idol" finalist to join ranks on a Billboard chart? The beloved season five No. 3 runner-up enters the fray—teeth thankfully capped and hair restyled—with a commanding R&B ballad reminiscent of compadre Mario Vazquez's hit "Gallery." Old-soul midtempo, hand-clapping production from Stargate (Nelly Furtado, Ne-Yo, Rihanna) and rapid-fire, R. Kelly-esque verses adeptly mesh with a muscular, emotive vocal. Considering that Yamin cites Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway as influences, the template is hands-down convincing. The singer suffered from a lack of overt star quality on the show, but "Wait for You" boasts amplitude of a radio-ready headliner. Look for a full-length debut March 20. The indie release on Hickory already has finer fragrance than major-label milquetoast debut from Taylor Hicks and frigid urban output from Katharine McPhee. Yamin could well be the ultimate victor. —Chuck Taylor

Billboard is read by the industry, and they will take note. They basically said he was a "fine wine" singer and that the 'lack of star quality' is gone....he's the real deal now.
I'm LOVING these reviews.

Every review is meaningful but this is probably the review that will be seen by most industry insiders...you know, the ones that can offer a better deal than he already has (if that's possible) or the one's that have the clout to push his singles on the radio!
Boy, this really is amazing news! This was a GREAT review!

I love how you guys keep coming up with the latest links! Thanks so much! And what a wonderful review. Something like this should really help on the spins and radio acceptance, I would think.
I wonder if/when Rolling Stone will review the CD.

Great review!!! He slammed Kat's single in a big way, so I was a little worried about a potential AI bias. But, my fears were for nothing---phew. All, I can say is, Chuck is clearly a very clever man with excellent taste--"emotive vocal"--that's our Elliott!
