I saw Simon Cowell on 60 Minutes. He was bragging about how much money he makes from Idols who make cd's with Sony. Does Simon profit from Elliott's publishing deal with Sony and his record deal with Hickory?

That's a good question and I don't know the answer. Elliott is not making records with 19E, which is the AI group - and unless Simon personally makes money from every artist with any ties to Sony, I would doubt it. Of course, who knows what those AI contestant contracts say.

I watched it too. Simon clarified later in the interview, that he profits from the Idol WINNERS. And that includes the Idol winners from ALL countries that have their version of Idol. He said approximately 75 t 100 artists that 'he' signed to SONY through Idol. Based on that explanation, I say No, he will not profit from Elliott, as Elliott obviously didn't win. Although SONY will, as they partnered with Elliott on the publishing deal.

Simon is tied to Sony/BMG. Elliott is with the publishing division. Simon does not have anything to do with that.
