Title: Ask A Dj Who Sings Wait For You?
Description: Email 2 Me About Elliott's CD Debut

I remembered that I used to call DJ's to ask them questions about the name of a song, or the artist who sang something if I couldn't remember. So, I took a similar approach in ONE email request to a music director saying I heard this song on my niece's MySpace, but I didn't know who sang Wait For You.

Here's the VERY NICE email reply that I got:

Hi Sk8888-
There is a new song by Elliot Yamin called "Wait For You" so that could very well be the song you're looking for! He was on Idol last season, and his debut album actually comes out today.
Thanks so much for listening, Sk8888!

Now isn't that nice of him? We have to remember that DJ's like being "in the know," and enjoy keeping their listeners in the loop. I'm going to reply with a big thank you email and say I look forward to hearing the song on his station.

Sk888, you are so smart!!!

Sk8888, I think this is a great strategy, but why'd you place it OTR? If anything, more people need to be using it. I wish I had thought of this before!

The board was moving really fast today. I also wasn't quite sure if peeople would approve of this, although I did it so as not to appear demanding or fangirly, the two things I associate with radio station personnel disliking in persistent fans and requestors.

I thought this achieved the goal of getting the song name out there without being too obvisous. We'll see.

Very clever. That was a nice reply. Hopefully, that will inspire that station to play Elliott's song.

Cute. Well it's nice to know the DJ's heard the song too.

That's a good idea and worth trying. I'm sorry to say that I haven't received any responses to an email yet.

I couldn't pull that off, NOT even in an email. lol very good s8888.

I have 2 ongoing emails with DJ's and one is a request with a twist, I told him I was gonna be voting for Sanjaya for 2 hours tonite (he hates Sanjaya) and that if he would play Elliott we wouldn't be in this mess...it's all in fun and I've talked to him on the phone too and I (feed his ego) talk to him about his other clever parodies. I'm sure this fanbase would give me a copy of the letter to the Soul Patrol, but honestly I don't think Elvis Presley got famous with ISQUAD holding up signs and saying now "FAINT NOW" ladies, and don't forget to cry as soon as you see him.

The other one we talk about other music and she knows Elliott by first name and she's informing me about his record deal! :) She actually has the same facts I have.
